Cross-country skiing and more

About Us

I have led skiing holidays for 20years for a leading British cross-country company and qualified as a  BASI Nordic instructor 4yrs ago. When I am at home I teach cross-country skiing at the Snowdome in Tamworth, Staffs, where I also help run the Midland Nordic Ski Club. ( see links page)

ski-daddle provides quality instruction in classic and skating techniques. The instruction will take you from your first tentative steps on snow to smooth positive skiing with the ability to handle a variety of terrain safely and with confidence.

The basics of classic or skating will be covered to move efficiently across the snow. Downhill techniques for cross-country will also be taught and practiced as well track changing to overtake slower skiers.

For experienced skiers technique will be analysed using video, personal and partnered feedback to enable faster and more efficient skiing.

Choose a week of  skiing at a relaxed pace with café and kuchen stops, lunch and perhaps a strudel or two.

Or come for a short break or a week where you can refine your technique, build up your speed and enter a race at the end of the holiday. See calendar for details of local races.

I provide 4hrs of instruction , arrange local transport, ski hire, loipe passes.

I can also advise on local accommodation near to the ski area in pensions, hotels or apartments to suit your budget. Approximate costs are 25 Eu  per night and for B&B or 45Eu per night for a double room depending on dates.

I also have a 2/3 bed-room detached house which can be rented. Please contact me for availability and prices. (See Kohlroserl page).

The house is situated on the sunny Ramsau plateau with views over the Schladminger Tauern. Cross-country  ski tracks pass the back door and link to the whole Ramsau area and a path through the forest leads up to the Guttenberghutte and thence on to the Dachstein itself.
